Sandy is the mother of four and grandmother of four. She and her husband Doug have always loved the outdoors. They are avid hikers and love to canoe. Their dream was to live in the mountains and in 2006 they moved to Georgia from Mississippi and are thirty minutes from the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail.
After thirty-two years in the dental field, she has turned her lifetime love of plants and flowers into a business. While visiting Chattanooga Tennessee in October of 2011, she saw a beautiful pressed botanical and said "I can do that!" The research began and after much trial and error...success! After giving many as gifts, she was encouraged by friends and family to take it a step further and Botanicals by Sandy was born.

Each piece is collected and then pressed using the heat and pressure method. It is then artfully arranged and adhered to acid free matboard. She then identifies each piece with the common and scientific name in handwritten calligraphy. It is then treated with two coats of a uv protectant. Each piece she creates is her new favorite! She especially enjoys creating custom pieces.
Since May of 2013, on the second weekend of every month, Sandy has had a booth at the Scott Antique Market in Atlanta, Georgia. She offers a large variety of sizes and species of framed botanicals. She uses unique recycled frames as well as new mouldings. If you don't see what fits your needs, she will be happy to create it custom for you!
